Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Something Old and Something New
ok, it took some digging to find a good "borrowed" for this post, but ya gotta be interested in something called: Borrowed A .40 and Rescued 400.

Something Blue: Blue Dog Gallery
I still remember stumbling upon this gallery on my first trip to Mardi Gras.

Something Old:Old Absinthe House
Built in 1806, this bar is named after the now illegal liquor and has been home to both pirates and Sinatra... what's not to love?

Something New: Magazine Street
Check out these links that Whit found -- looks like Magazine Street has a ton of great shopping, restaurants and galleries. Might be fun to investigate.

From the Music Desk...
Thanks for the following post from Whitney who has been investigating live music venues. I'll be adding as many links as I can to the blog.
"I found a cool area right next to the French Quarter (near cafe dumonde) that has some cool bars and several clubs (music) that is a good mix of tourist and local. It's called Frenchmen's Street (see pics from Flickr http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=%22frenchman's%20street%22&w=all). Has places like Sung Harbor, Spotted Cat, and Vaughn's which all looked cool and have "weekly gigs." You can pop in and hear the person that is playing that night - they are there each week. They seem an easy way to catch some music and local color."

Transportation from the Airport
Taxis from the New Orleans Airport (MSY) to the French Quarter are $28 flat for 1-2 persons and $12 per passenger for 3 or more people. There may be a $1 fuel surcharge if gas prices are still insane.
You pick up cabs at the taxi stand on the lower level just outside of baggage claim.
Arrival Dates
Warning: I may arrive Thursday - Tam

Welcome to Bachelorette in the Bayou!
Feel free to comment, ask questions and post items (photos, whatever).
We have secured three hotel rooms at W Hotel - French Quarter (link to the left). We'll be getting you the cost for Friday and Saturday night shortly. The rooms are under Tammy, Kristi and Kenyon, so you'll be paying one of us directly in advance of occupation.
More fun events and update are underway!
