Loader '98. Rossi's wedding. Promise to do this in at least one photo from your wedding. Preferably with your Mom.
Not that I am trying to send Nancy over the edge... but it might be fun to see her try to kill you at your own wedding.
Thanks for the 100% fun photo submission Paula!
P.S. Don't feel bad, I barely remember Rossi's wedding and certainly don't remember posing for thsi pic.

Costumes Win, No Delegates Awarded (Bad DC Humor)

So... costumes have eeked out the win... and even if it's just those of you who are vocal blog readers and commenters that did it... well, so be it. And, to the right, some of our Fab Flickr Friends at OPB (other people's bachelorettes) show us how you do it right.

Here's the dealio. Let's not make this too complicated. (This means, Kimbril you can keep the sweaty Fegan infested Pooh Bear suit at home.)

The rest of you, we, the Bachelorette in the Bayou Official Blog, will supply Official BitB Boas for the crew.
BUT - You are on your own for the rest of your ensemble. I challenge you to beat me out with the wig I will be rockin'...

Two More for 2pm

Kenyon, Kimbril and Dana are now ALL arriving on Friday at 2pm.

Someone call ahead and make sure the plane is stocking enough vodka.

The Registry: Two-da-loo

New day, new blog feature. The registry. What are the perfect gifts for the friends who already have everything?

Let me suggest, the Two-da-loo. Yes, now JC and Greg can spend even MORE time together.

LOL.

Must. Feed. The. Blog.

What else to they need? Send me your suggestions for next week's episode of The Registry.

Flickr is Fun: Introducing Bachelorette No. 1

So, as Jen can tell you, part of the problen with starting a blog is that you have to FEED the blog. The fastest way to lose your audience is not to update. So, in a bout of writers block, I resorted to visiting Flickr.com and typing in "new orleans bachelorette." Here is the first in a series of pictures of OTHER people's bachelorette parties in New Orleans, along with a reminder not to post OUR pics on flickr without password protection. LOL. Enjoy.

Iconic JC Images: 85% Denim, 100% Fun, 1994

I love that Tauritz's first impression upon seeing this photo was "wow, that's a lot of denim..."

As we say in the media biz, that's kind of burying the lead, doncha think? For chrissakes, we were sleeping in a hallway in Slidell, LA.

Kenyon, thanks for the pic, and for the memories...

What's closer than the Hillary v Obama Race?

The debate over costumes on Friday night in New Orleans rages on... Current polling shows a 50-50 split. Sources say that if Kimbril brings some of the May family karaoke costume stash they could push it over the edge. 24 hours left until the polls close... vote below now!

Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Something Old and Something New

Something Borrowed: Borrowed a .40 and Rescued 400
ok, it took some digging to find a good "borrowed" for this post, but ya gotta be interested in something called: Borrowed A .40 and Rescued 400.

Something Blue: Blue Dog Gallery
I still remember stumbling upon this gallery on my first trip to Mardi Gras.

Something Old:Old Absinthe House
Built in 1806, this bar is named after the now illegal liquor and has been home to both pirates and Sinatra... what's not to love?

Something New: Magazine Street
Check out these links that Whit found -- looks like Magazine Street has a ton of great shopping, restaurants and galleries. Might be fun to investigate.

How cute are we? 100% fun from Bach Past...

A Preview: Cat's Meow Bachelorette Karaoke

Maybe we should study the words in advance so that we don't sound like such A-Holes. Because you KNOW JC won't be able to READ the words at this point... and I won't be able to SPEAK them...

From the Music Desk...

Thanks for the following post from Whitney who has been investigating live music venues. I'll be adding as many links as I can to the blog.

"I found a cool area right next to the French Quarter (near cafe dumonde) that has some cool bars and several clubs (music) that is a good mix of tourist and local. It's called Frenchmen's Street (see pics from Flickr http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=%22frenchman's%20street%22&w=all). Has places like Sung Harbor, Spotted Cat, and Vaughn's which all looked cool and have "weekly gigs." You can pop in and hear the person that is playing that night - they are there each week. They seem an easy way to catch some music and local color."

Transportation from the Airport

Taxis from the New Orleans Airport (MSY) to the French Quarter are $28 flat for 1-2 persons and $12 per passenger for 3 or more people. There may be a $1 fuel surcharge if gas prices are still insane.

You pick up cabs at the taxi stand on the lower level just outside of baggage claim.

Arrival Dates

A couple of you have asked when everyone is arriving. As you book your flight, post your arrival time so we can all coordinate.

Warning: I may arrive Thursday - Tam
